Transport Options

The Nedbank Tour de Tuli starts at Mapungubwe National Park, Confluence Site on the 21 July and ends at the same site, Mapungubwe National Park on the 26 July. Transport can be booked on your registration profile.

Self-drive

Should you choose to self-drive, we have arranged for security to keep your car safe at the Mapungubwe Confluence Site.

Cost: R200.00 per vehicle

Directions from Johannesburg:

  • Take the N1 to Polokwane
  • Go through Polokwane and follow the R521 to Mogwadi (Dendron)
  • Turn right onto the N1 alternative route on Vermikuliet Road and then left onto the R521 to Dendron
  • Continue on the R521 through Dendron and follow the signs to Alldays
  • Once you get to Alldays, turn right still following the R521 (YOU MUST REFUEL IN ALLDAYS)
  • At approximately 46km, turn right on the R572 to Musina.
  • The Mapungubwe National Park Gate will be on your left hand side at 22km.

Please note: Any person takes this option entirely at their own risk. The Event Organisers cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to your vehicle and/or personal belongings. Please ensure that you have the necessary insurance cover.

There is limited capacity so please ensure you book this service early to avoid disappointment

Coach Transfers

Coach transfers are offered to transport you by coach from the Wilderness Safaris offices in Rivonia, to Mapungubwe National Park Confluence Site, and then back from Mapungubwe National Park Confluence Site to the Wilderness Safaris office.

Bookings for the coach are subject to availability.

Cost:

  • R1 800.00 per person return (includes bike transport)
  • R900.00 per person on a one way basis (includes bike transport)

Departure and Arrival Times:

  • Tuesday 21 July – Departs from the Wilderness Safaris offices at 06h00 (loading at 05h30)
  • Sunday 26 July – Scheduled to arrive at the Wilderness Safaris offices around 15h00

The coach is unable to collect or drop off participants at any point other than the designated departure and arrival point at the Wilderness Safaris offices in Rivonia.

  • Collection of Bikes – Tuesday 28 July between 09h00 and 12h00

Important: Please do not book any domestic flights departing from OR Tambo airport any earlier than 19h00 or any international flights departing any earlier than 20h00 on the 26 July.

Departure on the 21 July:

  • Please be at the Wilderness Safaris offices no later than 05h30 for the loading of your luggage. Please note: We do not have any parking facilities, so please ensure you are dropped off and collected.
  • We will have limited capacity to carry bicycles on this day and this will be reserved for those individuals living outside of Gauteng. This option needs to be pre-booked. If you need your bike immediately to connect to a flight, please ensure that you advise us of this in advance.
  • The coach will have a scheduled stop en route around 10h00. Food & drink at this stop will be for the participants own account.

Flying

The first camp is situated at Mpaungubwe National Park. Should you choose to fly to and from the event, please note the airstrips in the area: Alldays and Limpopo Valley Airfield.

Arrival day: 21 July 2020
Departure day: 26 July 2020

All flight arrangements are for your own arrangement and account. It is your responsibility to ensure flight arrangements have been made and the correct clearance is obtained.

Should you wish to fly to and from the event, please contact Copper Sun to arrange transfers to and from the start/ end of the event. Transfers are for your own arrangement and own account.

Looking for a Private Charter?

Angel Gabriel 
Angel Gabriel are offering direct flights from O.R. Tambo to Mashatu, and from Limpopo Valley Airfield to O.R Tambo (return) for the Nedbank Tour de Tuli 2020. Flights are directly to the start of the event at Limpopo Valley Airfield.

Bike Transport

Should you need assistance with transporting your bike to and from the event, we have various options available:

Johannesburg to/from Tour – Nedbank Tour de Tuli
If you are doing a self-drive and only need your bike transported to/from the event, we are able to transport your bike on specialized bike trailers. Please note space is limited and bookings will be subject to availability.

Cost:

  • R900.00 return
  • R450.00 one-way

Bike Delivery and Collection:
If you are travelling on the coach, your bicycles will need to leave before you, to ensure they are on site for your arrival. All bikes need to be delivered and collected from the Wilderness Safaris offices as per the designated dates and times below.

Please note that we have LIMITED capacity to manage bicycles on the departure date and therefore if you are connecting to/from domestic or international flights and will NOT be able to deliver and/or collect your bicycles at the designated time, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can make provision for this.

Please Note: We have very limited storage capacity available so please ensure that you collect your bikes at the specified times, unless special provision has been made with the Event Organisers. Should you not collect your bike on the designated day, we cannot guarantee that your bike will be locked away.

If you are flying in and need a transfer from to/ from Mapungubwe National Park, please see the below options for transfers.
